 Installation Error (ActiveX Error, Run time error or No look up data)

Solution

This article applies to: BankTree Personal Finance 2.0

I have installed Banktree on a windows computer. Now getting the following error when I start the application:
Data file could not be found....do you want to create one? Y
Run time error -2147467259 (80004005)
Could not find file c:\documents and settings\{USER}\my documents\banktree 2.0\banktree.dat
Would you please advise how I resolve this issue.

You need to reset the data access componets on your computer:

Go to the start menu and select RUN. type CMD and Enter.

If you are running windows 7 or Vista, go to start menu, All Programs, Accessories and Right Click on command prompt selecting run as administrator.

At the command prompt enter the following lines following enter with each line;

< For Windows 32-bit computers >

c:
cd windows\system32
regsvr32 "c:\program files\Common Files\System\Ado\msado15.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\Common Files\System\Ado\msadox.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\Common Files\System\Ado\msjro.dll"

< For Windows 64-bit computers >

c:
cd windows\SysWoW64
regsvr32 "c:\program files (x86)\Common Files\System\Ado\msado15.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files (x86)\Common Files\System\Ado\msadox.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files (x86)\Common Files\System\Ado\msjro.dll"

Continue with the following:

Then delete all files from c:\My Documents\BankTree 2.0

Restart the software.
